Zuma – medical parole

 

The leader of the DA, J Steenhuisen is of the opinion that a person eligible for medical parole must either be suffering from a terminal illness or be rendered physically incapacitated due to injury, disease or illness, the risk of re-offending must be low.   The DA wants the minutes of this “parole meeting”.    Zuma, 79, has been serving a 15-month prison sentence since July for contempt of court after defying a summons to appear at an inquiry into corruption during his time in office.

Soos te wagte is daar wye reaksie oor Zuma se vrylaing op mediese parool.  Sodra hy uit hospitaal ontslaan is gaan hy huis toe met “voorwaardes”.    Baie interessant, dat daar soveel ander is wat oortredings begaan het, maande en selfs jare moet wag na etlike toetse en verslae eers ingevorder moet word en baie het al gesterf in tronke weens “siektestoestande”.   

Bykans oornag verkry die voormalige president van die ANC sommer bykans onmiddellik mediese parool weens die mediese verslae.     Op wie se mediese verslae word hy vrygelaat?   Wat van al die ander misdadigers wat baie siek is, mag hulle dan ook nou soos in onmiddellik vrygelaat word soos Zuma.   Daar word baie bevraagteken oor die spesifieke geval van Zuma, want heelwat wat al baie lank sit met siektestoestande in die tronke. 

Soos te wagte, word alles hieromtrent bevraagteken deur politieke leiers en as onwettig beskou, wat eenvoudig nodig is in ‘n land van die sogenaamde “demokrasie en korrupsie op staatsvlakke”. 

KORRUPSIE

Korrupsie gaan al vir jare aan, veral onder aanvoer van Zuma waarvan Ramaphosa die tweede in bevel was.   Sodra iemand onder arres is, word sommige van hulle of vinnig verhoor en later vrygelaat.  Hy mag dalk nou op mediese parool geplaas word, maar daar is vele ander verhore wat op Zuma wag – verseker gaan hy siek speel.  Korrupsie word nooit alleen gepleeg nie, daar is teveel hande in die korrupsie koekieblik in Suid-Afrika.   

Kommissies word deur die presidente aangestel (in terme van die grondwet en hul verpligtinge).  Regter Zondo was maar een daarvan.    Swart bemagtiging is ook deur Ramaphosa beheer as voorsitter van sy eie kommissie sedert 1995.    Hy en veral familielede het vir jare voordeel getrek uit swart bemagtiging en regstelaksies.

Ekstra inkomstes is nie verklaar nie, dit is nie belasting- of rentevry nie

Wanneer word al hierdie korrupsiegeld, met rentes teruggeplaas waar dit hoort – in die staatskas, wat deur die belastingbetalers gevoed word.   Hierdie tipe geld wat gesteel word is ekstra inkomstes aan diegene wat dit steel en hulle behoort 30% of meer belasting hierop te betaal.

Hierdie aangeleentheid het ook niks te doen met “blanke monopolie” soos sommige beweer nie.  Daar kon nog nooit bewys word dat net blankes die “elites” (bevoordeeldes) vorm nie, en die swart bemagtiging sorg vir ‘n handjievol swart bevoorregtes om miljoenêrs en biljoenêrs te word sedert 1994.

Indien die Kabinet hieroor moet besluit, wie besluit dan oor die ander misdadigers en terroriste wat “siek” is?

DA leader John Steenhuisen has threatened to submit an application in terms of the Promotion of Access to Information Act (PAIA) for the records of the parole board that granted Zuma parole.  Steenhuisen said he wants to establish what criteria the Department of Correctional Services used to determine Zuma’s eligibility for medical parole. 

The opposition party has labelled the medical parole granted to Zuma as unlawful and a mockery of the Correctional Matters Amendment Act. 

“Given that Zuma publicly refused to be examined by an independent medical professional, let alone a medical advisory board, this decision is a violation of the Act and therefore unlawful,” Steenhuisen said.

The Department of Correctional Services placed the former president on medical parole on Sunday.   Zuma will now complete the rest of his sentence under community corrections.   This means he’ll be expected to comply with a specific set of conditions and will be subject to supervision until his sentence expires.
