Zuma in action – his own Zondo Commission

The Zondo Commission was appointed by Zuma himself. It was to “establish the truth regarding the fraud, corruption, state capture, etc.” Is this really possible in a corrupt and failed state? Former President Jacob Zuma is appearing at the Zondo commission of inquiry where he is expected to answer the allegations of state capture that have been levelled against him. He spoke about “conspiracies” “spies” – lies, and more lies that is what we will hear, always the innocent party in all accusations. I have done nothing wrong, famous words, a BLAME GAME .. And Ramaphosa was his right hand.

ZONDO COMMISSION WAS APPOINTED BY ZUMA

10 January 2018 – Zuma announced that he appointed Deputy Chief Justice Raymond Zondo to head the commission of inquiry into state capture. “Pursuant to the investigation and remedial action of the Public Protector regarding complaints and allegations of the State of Capture, as well as the orders issued by the North Gauteng High Court in its judgment of 14 December 2017, I have decided to appoint a Commission of Inquiry,” Zuma said in a statement. “The court ordered that, among other things, the remedial action of the Public Protector is binding and that the President is directed to appoint a commission of inquiry within 30 days, headed by a judge solely selected by the Chief Justice. The court also ordered that I should personally pay the costs of the review. The court also ruled that Chief Justice Mogoeng Mogoeng should select the judge to preside over the state capture commission of inquiry within 30 days.

Tlhabi has poked fun at the claim she is a spy.

Zuma says Redi Tlhabi’s book on Fezekile ‘Khwezi’ Khuzwayo and the rape scandal are also part of the narrative against him.

Zuma now speaking about an operative called Ralph who gave himself name Fear who infiltrated the ANC. He says Ralph operated in Swaziland & caused people to die. He was arrested & confessed. He had actually been recruited by the regime & trained with ANC literature.

Zuma allaudes to President Ramaphosa’s ‘wasted 9 years’ statement. He says Ramaphosa was party to many decisions made during this time.

“I have survived attempts to kill me. People looking to poison me, or being instructed by their handlers to do so… All emanates from those people who made the plan in the beginning. At some point, they feel I’m not disappearing.”

Zuma says there are some comrades that have provoked him. “One day, Comrade [Fikile] Mbalula attended an activity in the farm or home of Mr Roebert. And when Roebert saw him, he said ‘ Mr Mbalula, if Zuma removes Pravin Gordhan, we will shut down the economy of this country, you must go and tell him’. And he indeed he told me… Indeed, they did interfere with the rand. I knew it was a deliberate move. Part of the agenda.

Zuma now speaks on his relationship with the Guptas. He says he doesn’t get why people only probe his relationship with the family when previous ANC presidents had relations with them.

“I have a problem with the public protector taking the powers of the president in order to fulfil an agenda,” he says. He asks why would Madonsela go to the extent of influencing the commission. He says this is all part of a plan.

“People tried to find something that would make Zuma disappear… Including the coming into being of this commission influenced by this. My concern, the public protector… in my view prescribes how this commission should be,” he says.

Zuma still maintains that the Nkandla upgrades were security features and necessary. He says Nkandla was used to enhance the phrase that he is corrupt.

Zuma says Thuli Madonsela found nothing in her Nkandla report. This however, is not accurate.

“You will recall that when I was building my home in Nkandla, problems arose about corruption,” Zuma says media mentioned the money that was squandered. He says government structures investigating Nkandla found nothing. Zuma says he was still vilified as the most corrupt person in the world.

He was elected Deputy SG at the 1991 conference. Mandela was elected president. The ANC decided that Mandela and the treasurer would go to the US to raise funds. Thabo Mbeki and Zuma were assigned to the UK on another mission.
