South Africa – Arson – Terrorisme – Brandstigting

What is the point of burning down infrastructure, schools, trucks and buildings – it won’t solve any problems and it will cost us, the taxpayer, the prices of products won’t come down, but will become more and more expensive.  It is not always only about labour but also things like to transport bread, clothes, furniture,  and other things from one place to another.   To bake bread you need certain ingredients.   To make PAP you need mielie meal.

Who will repair this arson? – not the owner.   Who damaged the roads during those explosions and have to remove all those trucks?

What happened to all those truckdrivers when people just started to burn the truck he/she is driving.  This is not freedom but terrorism.

It is impossible it is only one person involved in this type of terrorism.  There was possibly an harassment to all those truck drivers.   But I can not imagine the trauma those drivers had to go through.   That is that person’s only income.   Those trucks are expensive to buy and maintain.  What if those people are not from outside our borders.   It was mentioned that it is possible that fleets making use of foreigners.  What happened to them?

Some South African truck drivers say they will risk their lives and continue working so they can feed their families. That’s despite the ongoing strike against trucking companies that hire non-South Africans. Drivers have dismissed the government’s plan to set up another task team to investigate the matter. Newzroom Afrika’s Malungelo Booi has more.

Police have launched a manhunt for the perpetrators who allegedly petrol-bombed nine trucks on the N3 and R103 near Heidelberg on Thursday night.

Gauteng police spokesperson Capt Mavela Masondo said preliminary investigations revealed that a white Toyota Quantum and a black VW vehicle, both with unknown registrations, had blocked the road. Then a number of trucks caught fire after petrol-bombs were allegedly thrown at them.

This occurred at about 8.30pm on Thursday.    “Seven trucks were torched on the N3 between Heidelberg and Vosloorus while two trucks were set alight on the R103.”

One person has been arrested for the burning of trucks last night. The thugs were using a Toyota quantum to force trucks to slow down before petrol bombing them. We hope more arrests are made.

The civil rights organisation AfriForum says that the South African Human Rights Commission (HRC) cannot be trusted to facilitate talks between communities in South Africa, because the HRC promotes double standards and shrugs its shoulders when violence against minorities is romanticised. AfriForum therefore views the HRC as part of the problem in South Africa and not as part of the solution.

Hundreds of schools burnt down during lock down – 2020
Schools torched in South Africa

Destyds was daar selfs ‘n Spoorwegpolisie.

Are we living now in a terrorist state in South Africa?

There are different views about  different acts that make it terrorism.

In November 2004, a Secretary-General of the United Nations report described terrorism as any act “intended to cause death or serious bodily harm to civilians or non-combatants with the purpose of intimidating a population or compelling a government or an international organization to do or abstain from doing any act”.

State terrorism refers to acts of terrorism conducted by a state against its own citizens or against another state.

“Terrorism is the deliberate killing of innocent people, at random, to spread fear through a whole population and force the hand of its political leaders”  .

Criminal acts intended or calculated to provoke a state of terror in the public, a group of persons or particular persons for political purposes are in any circumstance unjustifiable, whatever the considerations of a political, philosophical, ideological, racial, ethnic, religious or any other nature that may be invoked to justify them.

Terrorist acts frequently have a political purpose.  Some official, governmental definitions of terrorism use the criterion of the illegitimacy or unlawfulness of the act  to distinguish between actions authorized by a government (and thus “lawful”) and those of other actors, including individuals and small groups.

Those labeled “terrorists” by their opponents rarely identify themselves as such, and typically use other terms or terms specific to their situation, such as separatist, freedom fighter, liberator, revolutionary, vigilante, militant, paramilitary, guerrilla, rebel, patriot, or any similar-meaning word in other languages and cultures.     . .

Are Rewolution and terrorism the same?

The term terroriste, meaning “terrorist”, is first used in 1794 by the French philosopher  François-Noël Babeuf, who denounces Maximilien Robespierres Jacobin regime as a dictatorship.

In the years leading up to what became known as the Reign of Terror, the Brunswick Manifesto threatened Paris with an “exemplary, never to be forgotten vengeance: the city would be subjected to military punishment and total destruction” if the royal family was harmed, but this only increased the Revolution’s will to abolish the monarchy.

Some groups, when involved in a “liberation” struggle, have been called “terrorists” by the Western governments or media. Later, these same persons, as leaders of the liberated nations, are called “statesmen” by similar  organizations. Two examples of this phenomenon are the Nobel Peace Prize  laureates Menachem Begin and Nelson Mandela.
