The Freedom Convoy trucker protests in Canada forced Ford Motor to halt production at two of its Canadian factories after protesters blocked the Ambassador Bridge, which connects Ontario in Canada to Michigan in the U.S. and carries 25% of all trade between the two countries.

Ordinarily, $350 million of goods flows across the Ambassador Bridge every day, including auto components and agricultural goods. Unblocking that vital economic artery is now a priority for authorities in Ontario. Traffic has resumed on the lane taking drivers from the U.S. into Canada, but freight is flowing at a fraction of its usual rate and the way out of Canada remains blocked.

“If you know anything about truck air brakes, once you pull that button, all 18 wheels are locked,” one truck driver engaged in the protest told CBC on Wednesday. “Nothing can move it, except maybe a big wrecker. And no wrecker worth his salt is going to come anywhere near this, because they’re on our side.”

Daily wire reported regarding the Movement to stop
Four Canadian provinces have moved to lift their COVID-19 restrictions as a massive protest by truckers continued blockades in Ottawa, paralyzing the capital city. Quebec, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Prince Edward Island provinces have all announced plans to eliminate or roll back some or all measures. Alberta “dropped its vaccine passport for places such as restaurants immediately and getting rid of masks at the end of the month.
The moves came after a huge throng of truckers shut down Ottawa, protesting a 15 January rule requiring truckers entering Canada to be fully immunized against COVID-19. On Wednesday, more than 400 trucks gridlocked the downtown area. And a blockade by fed-up Canadians entered Day 3 at the Ambassador Bridge between Detroit and Windsor, Ontario, the busiest trade bridge in North America.

Virginia Senate
A bipartisan bill to make masks optional in all of Virginia’s K-12 schools passed Wednesday with three Democrats joining Republicans to codify GOP Gov. Glenn Youngkin’s executive order. The bill now heads to the state House of Delegates, where Republicans have the majority, and it is expected to pass.

This do not make sense at all:
New York is lifting its indoor mask mandate for businesses as COVID rates decline, Gov. Kathy Hochul said. Masks will still be required in schools, health care facilities and public transit.
Gov. Kathy Hochul announced at a briefing that the statewide vaccine-or-mask requirement for businesses will end on Thursday, though masks will still be required in schools and some other places where people congregate, including health care facilities, shelters and public transit stations. Counties, cities and businesses can still choose to require masks, she added.
Here are the fast facts for each state:
- New York: The decision to lift the indoor mask mandate should bring an end to a long-running series of legal challenges against it, and the confusion and abrupt changes they have wrought.
- Connecticut: Gov. Ned Lamont recommended that the state end its statewide mask mandate on Feb. 28 and said it will be up to local leaders to make decisions on mask requirements after that point.
- New Jersey: The state will lift its mask mandate in schools (for students and employees) starting March 7, though districts can still require masking to control spikes in infections, and anyone who wants to wear a mask can still do so.
- Delaware: The state’s universal indoor mask mandate will expire, and its indoor mask mandate for public and private K-12 schools and child care facilities will end on March 31.
- Oregon: The state will lift its indoor mask requirements for schools and public places on March 31.
In California, the state is ending indoor masking requirements for vaccinated people starting Tuesday but has not said when it will lift its statewide mandate for K-12 schools or high-risk settings like nursing homes and hospitals.
Unvaccinated people will still be required to wear masks indoors throughout the state, and individual businesses can still require masks if they want to.

EUROPE
Across Europe, many countries have tightened their entry rules because of the surge of omicron coronavirus variant infection numbers while others have decided to relax them. The situation in each country can change daily, meaning tourists, tour operators, hotels and restaurateurs must remain highly flexible.
The EU recommends travel restrictions should be scrapped for tourists from Australia, Canada, New Zealand and several other non-EU states. While the US has been removed from the EU safe travel list, fully vaccinated visitors from the EU and UK, who can also show proof of a negative COVID test result, may enter the US.
Eevery member state maintains its own rules for granting entry to third country travelers already within the EU or Schengen zone.
As a general rule, anyone arriving in Germany — whether by airplane, car, train or ship — must present either a negative test result, proof of vaccination, or documentation proving their recovery from COVID-19.
Germany currently classifies the United Kingdom, South Africa, Zimbabwe and numerous other African states as high-risk areas, along with several other European countries among them Austria, France, Greece, Croatia and Ukraine.
Travelers may enter France if they can show proof of vaccination, recovery, or a recent negative test result. Everyone must fill out an entry form stating that they don’t have any COVID-19 symptoms. Since December 2021, non-EU arrivals are asked to provide a negative COVID-19 test taken within 24 or 48 hours depending on the country of origin, even if they have been vaccinated.
