This is not a TRUMP award, it is an American award – the Presidential Medal of Freedom of America award. And Trump is still the President of America. The Presidential Medal of Freedom was established by President John F. Kennedy in 1963 and this prestigious award is the Nation’s highest civilian honor. It is awarded by the President of the United States to individuals who have made exceptional contributions to the security or national interests of America, to world peace, or to cultural or other significant public or private endeavors.

Player and another golf great Annika Sorenstam, who also received the award were also slammed by Golfweek columnist Christine Brennan for attending the ceremony a day after chaos erupted in the US capital, when a ragtag group egged on by Trump breached Capitol security and temporarily brought a halt to Congress’s confirmation of Joe Biden’s victory in the November presidential election.
Golf great Gary Player accepted the Presidential Medal of Freedom from President Donald Trump in a closed-door ceremony on 7 January 2021, a day after a mob of Trump supporters invaded the US Capitol building.
Player’s son, Marc, however, went on social media to try and persuade Player not to accept the award, and afterwards tweeted it was a “shame” that his father decided to attend the ceremony. (What is so sad of this attitude?).

Biden’s victory was later confirmed by legislators and with Trump under fire for stoking the incident the award ceremony was held without the usual fanfare.
“Sorenstam and Player, widely regarded as paragons of sportsmanship and honour in their game, did not cancel on Trump,” Brennan wrote. “They did not note the horror that had taken place on his watch and decide that wasn’t an appropriate time to celebrate with him at the White House. They did not care about the gravity of the situation, about the calls from political leaders to remove Trump by impeachment or the 25th Amendment.”

Trump also bestowed the award, America’s highest civilian honor, and posthumously on Olympic gold medallist and women’s golf pioneer Babe Didrikson Zaharias. “Today, President Donald J. Trump awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom posthumously to Babe Zaharias,” the White House said in a press release.
“The President also presented the award to previously announced recipients Annika Sorenstam and Gary J. Player.”
South Africa’s Player, 85, is one of just five players to complete a career Grand Slam, capturing all four of golf’s modern major titles. In all he won nine majors and 24 US PGA Tour titles.
Sweden’s Sorenstam, 50, won 72 LPGA tour titles, including 10 majors.
Her dominant career also included a magical round of 59 in a professional tournament and an appearance in the PGA Tour’s Colonial in 2003, where her determination to take on the men sparked debate and raised the profile of women’s golf.
Zaharias was the first woman to play in a PGA Tour event, in 1935, and remains the only woman to make the cut in a PGA Tour event. Her groundbreaking professional golf career came after an outstanding amateur sports career. Her childhood prowess in baseball earned Zaharias, christened Mildred, the nickname “Babe” after Babe Ruth.
She excelled in swimming and basketball and at the 1932 Los Angeles Olympics set world records in the 80m hurdles, javelin, and high jump on the way to two gold medals and one silver.
She pursued golf after her Olympic success, and her swaggering style and athleticism gave her 41 professional wins, with 10 victories prior to the founding of the LPGA in 1950. Her 36 professional titles on the LPGA Tour included 10 major championships. Zaharias was just 45 when she died of cancer in 1956. “Her towering legacy will shine forever in the history of American athletics,” the White House said in a statement.

Die feit dat Gary Player die toekenning aanvaar en bygewoon het, behoort sy familie trots te maak vir so ‘n tipe van toekenning. Ongelukkig voel nie almal so daaroor nie. Dit gaan nie oor die familie nie en ook nie oor Trump nie, maar oor wat Gary Player vir jare in sy beroep bereik het, want verseker was daar baie hoogtepunte in sy lewe.
Sommige van die familie wat nou te krities is oor Gary, moet hul kop in skaamte laat sak, want as dit nie vir pa Gary was en wat hy bereik het nie, was daar dalk ‘n totale ander prentjie van die Player familie.
Wees trots op jou ouers, ongeag wat hul of jou politieke belange vandag is en aanvaar ouers soos hulle is. Soms is ouers meer reg as verkeerd en dit het ons geskiedenis al oor en oor bewys waar ons voorgeslagte vandaankom en waar ons vandag sit – in die middel van ‘n kommunistiese regering wat alles plunder sover hul op alle vlakke alles in die afgrond in bestuur en regeer. Wees ook eerder dankbaar en bly dat jy ‘n pa het om op trots te wees. En al kry meeste van ons nie sulke toekennings nie, wees dankbaar vir die ouers wat jou grootgemaak het.
Vandag word alles afgebreek wat gebou was na die oorloë en depressie jare. Geen instandhouding word gedoen nie, tenders gaan uit soos wat ons met Eskom beleef het, maar niks realiteit wat plaasvind nie.
Gary Player, as speler, mens, as pa en vriend van baie, verdien beter as soveel kritiek.

Terloops – is daar al bewys dat dit wel ‘n “mob of Trump supporters” was soos berigte weergee, wat alles “oorgeneem” en gebou in Washington beskadig het. Vals vlaggies wapper oral. Daar is iets baie verdags aan die gang in Washington – mens kan dit seemyle ver gesien het en selfs die “kleredrag” van sekere oproermakers en radikales, spreek boekdele.
Dis asof hul handel en dade nie met mekaar strook nie. Hierdie hele episode was myns insiens om Trump en sy ondersteuners in die wiele te probeer ry. Is sommige mense so desperaat om dit te doen net om die werklike teikens aan die maspaal op te hang.
Daar is ook in Suid-Afrika opgemerk hoe liberales en klassieke liberale blankes op dubbel stoele sit, werf steun vanaf almal en gebruik soos dit hulle behaag en pas.
Samesprekings vanaf 1980 tot ongeveer 1994, veral in hoofsaaklik lande soos Dakar, Zambië of London is maar ‘n paar voorbeelde om op te noem. Indien die spul blanke liberaliste eerlik was, sou hul nie op George Soros se kaartjie landuit gegaan het om ons land op ‘n skinkbord aan kommuniste soos Soros en Slovo te gee nie – HULLE WOU DIT DOEN en dis met voorbedagte rade gedoen. Slegs die liberales se woord word toe later wetgewing (en grondwet) en die res moes verander en aanpas.
Die tyd sal leer of Amerika dieselfde pad volg hier, want hoeveel van die spul was in China en hoeveel hande van China is in Amerika soos elders in Afrika? Dubbel spioene doen enige iets en daar is heelwat van hulle.
Virus
Selfs tydens die “Corona virus” waar besighede gesukkel het om te oorleef, is daar geen hulp aan blankes of aan blanke besighede in Suid-Afrika gebied nie. Selfs die “finansiers of donateurs” het saamgesit met die regering van die land. Besighede wat hulle al die jare met groot sukses deur blanke kennis en ervaring laat opbou het, het oornag in swart bemagtiging ontaard wat deure moes sluit. Korrupsie is ‘n daaglikse misdaadtoneel.
Natuurlik, vandag kreun en steun die swartes en ander oor hulle ingedoen word en gee steeds die sogenaamde “apartheid” die skuld. Apartheid wat die Britte ingestel het – Rhodes en Shepstone (1854).
Net soos nou in Amerika – met die een hand bied of skree hul sogenaamde hulp aan en in die ander hand is ‘n paar dolke wat reeds met bloed besmet is. Dus, in sommige areas, word mense uitgelok deur gebruik te maak van “sagte teikens” deur spioene wat die werk doen.
Trump en hul ondersteuners moet hul rue dophou, want dis presies waar ons klein blanke minderheidsvolk in 1980-tot datum is – dit was voor 1900 ook ervaar. Die wiel sal weer draai vir ons ook, maar ons moet daardie wiel self aandryf, nie kommuniste nie, na gebiede wat aan ons behoort en waar die meerderheid van ons reeds gevestig is.
Ironies, is daar heelwat berigte dat dit nie Trump ondersteuners was nie en indien daar na beeldmateriaal gekyk word, word dit ook bevestig met snaakse kreature.
Die feit dat ‘n slagspreuk “send me” vertoon het, is nog iets wat nie sin maak nie. Meer later oor daardie slagspreuk….
