The Germans of Nambia also have their own traditions, culture and identity.    The Afrikaners and Boers (all whites) in South Africa are not an unique people or race group, we are white, but we are different from any other culture in South Africa.   We are not the same as the Zulu, Khoisan or any other black or brown cultures and we all have our differences in different communities and peoples.   The black and brown cultures are also different from each other and all of us have their own identity, culture, traditions and languages.    The ethnic blacks and khoisan even live in different areas in South Africa, like the Zulu tribe live on Ingonyama trustland, previously called homelands or reserves.   There is really nothing wrong with that.    They also have their own kings or queens or traditional leaders. They all have their own legislations as well.
 

An NO, dr Verwoerd did not created the segregation or apartheid, it was already there in 1854. Other continents also have their own different cultures with their own traditions, languages and identities. We do not interfere with the French, Italians or any other country!!!
 
Why is it a crime if we as Afrikaners or Boers (all whites) want our own people together, but not the others? we do not stand in the way of any ethnic peoples or tribals to rule themselves by their own kings or queens – they even get salaries from taxes and that is also wrong, why must we pay their whole hierarchies, they are not our kings, queens or chiefs or indunas?
 
So why must it be called a crime if we want to live with our own people and cultures/traditions? But they scream always “apartheid apartheid” –
 
To rule yourself in your own independent country is an international right.

Hoe lyk ons buurland waar ook Afrikaans gepraat word, sommige van Duitse afkoms?

Dis regdeur Afrika die geval, volke leef saam en leef streef hul eie kulture na.  Ons is nie multi-kultuur een nasie nie.  Kulture oor die algemeen konsentreer ook saam in sekere gebiede.  Niks daarmee verkeerd nie.  en NEE dit is ook nie apartheid of dink jy is beter as ander nie.

Wanneer dit egter blanke kulture is, word dit kwansuis “APARTHATE” genoem.

Ons is nie dieselfde as bruin en swart etniese groepe nie.  Namibië se Duitsers ook nie.

In Suid-Afrika het ons ook te doen met dieselfde probleme, tog bly elke etniese swart en khoisan volk weg van mekaar, het elkeen hul eie tradisionele leiers en konings, maar as blanke Afrikaners, Boere of soos hier in Namibië dit doen word daar ‘n apartheid bordjie omgehang en as rassisme gekelder. Die Zoeloe in Suid-Afrika vermeng ook nie met die uit swartes van Zimbabwe of die Tswana of Khoisan nie, en dis nie “apartheid” nie. Waag dit om ‘n swart Zoeloe burgemeester in ‘n ander gebied soos Pretoria aangestel, dan word alles afgebrand.

Volke het die reg om oor hulself te regeer en so het die Khoi Khoi, Nama, Zoeloe, Afrikaner, Boer dieselfde regte. Dit is dus geen uitsonderlike gevalle dat daar wit en swart of bruin is nie, maar etnisiteit en kultuur het nog nooit erens gemeng of gewerk nie. Die Franse, Italianers, Nederlanders verskil almal van mekaar en is ook nie in een land saamgekoek nie.

A documentary, posted by Redfish Films on YouTube in April, continues a heated debate Namibians have been having since independence.

Tonight, the public is invited to pick up the dialogue on land after viewing a free screening of ‘Germans In Namibia: Apartheid Continued’.

It will be attended by the film-makers from Redfish, some of the people interviewed in the documentary as well as members of the public.

Namupa Shivute from the Centre for People’s Resistance, which is organising the screening and the discussion to follow, said the event was necessitated not only by the need for Namibians to continue talking and seeking solutions to the land issue, but because of the upcoming land conference set to take place next month.

“The land conference is around the corner and a lot of people will be excluded from the conference, people from the grassroots. This exclusion might not be deliberate but for whatever reason, not everyone will be part of the conference,” she said of the need to have a platform where all Namibians can deliberate on the land issue.

Describing the film, Shivute said that it not only takes a look into the land conversation from a historic perspective, but also gives insight on the situation on the ground today. The discussion following the screening will be peaceful and polite and everyone is encouraged to take part – under those two guidlines.

The film features interviews with Namibians from all walks of life including land repositioning activists such as Affirmative Repositioning’s Job Amupanda, labour researcher Herbert Jauch, German-speaking Namibian land owners and community activists. It interrogates the ownership of Namibian natural resources such as land, which dates back from German colonial occupation, and how the majority of Namibians are still without land years after independence.

“We’re hoping that this will be a public-led conversation because the public need to be engaged,” Shivute said, while adding that for the Centre for People’s Resistance, it’s important that the public attends in numbers.

‘Germans In Namibia: Apartheid Continued’ will be screened for free tonight at the Zoo Park ampitheatre in Windhoek at 18h30 for 19h00. Refreshments and food will be on sale.
