2/8/2019: Cathcart, Eastern Cape. Victim was found in pool of blood in farm house and is well known nurse in region too. Neighbours noticed that the door was bent and unknown males running away from the house. Police are investigating a case of murder following the discovery of an elderly woman at her home early on the morning of 2 August 2019, in Cathcart.
The SAPS activated a team who managed to identify one of the suspects. During the attempt to arrest him shots were exchanged and the suspect sustained a shot to his upper body. He later succumbed to his injuries. Police are still searching for a second suspect. The name of the victim has not released yet, although it is believed that she was a well-known nurse in town.
