Seelewe word op verskeie maniere totaal en al vernietig – veral deur onwettige nette. Nette word misbruik in ons viswaters en sodoende word alle seelewe in die proses doodgemaak.
25 March 2019 – the NCAP does it again. Some nets recovered in the Richards Bay Area. Various fish species released back into the water but unfortunately there was various fish that died due to the wall of death . This was on Friday. Story behind the pics. On Thursday night our responders spotted some dim light followed it at Pelican and saw it was poachers. We went after them but with the heavy rain they ran and we lost them.
Friday morning responder went out called in for other responders to come help found 3 nets 600m each. 1.8km nets was removed. We cut out all the fish released quite a bit of fish different species but also sad sat with alot of dead fish. DAFF fisheries came and bagged all dead fish and removed it. Nets was booked in at Waterwing saps. Goes through a process and then gets destroyed.
